The central distinction
The jack of the same colour as trump is the left bower. It belongs to the trump suit for that hand, rather than its printed suit. The jack of trump itself is the higher right bower.
Use the visual reference
Choose a trump in the interactive diagram. Find the jack that moved, then look for its absence from the original suit’s list. Repeat this with another trump before trying a full hand.
Ask the right follow-suit question
During practice, identify the card’s effective suit first. Only then compare it with the led suit and check the rest of your hand. A remembered suit symbol is not a substitute for this step.
Stay within the scope
The diagram uses twenty-four cards and no joker. A different pack or house variation requires its own reference. It is a rank display, not a complete legal-play engine.
